ISLAMABAD (Dunya News) - Special Assistant on National Health Services Dr. Faisal Sultan has said that the vaccination of people aged above forty years has started from today.
Briefing media persons in Islamabad on Monday, he said one hundred and fifty thousand vaccines are being administered on daily basis and our target is to take to three hundred thousand.
The Special Assistant said the government has pursued a well thought out strategy to procure the vaccine and so far deals for thirty million doses have been signed, terming it as satisfactory.
Pakistan to vaccinate 70 million people against COVID-19 by 2021 end

ISLAMABAD, Pakistan: The Prime Minister’s Special Assistant on National Health Services Dr. Faisal Sultan has said that 70 million people will be vaccinated against COVID-19 in the Country by the end of 2021.
Briefing media persons in Islamabad on Monday, he said that 150,000 COVID-19 vaccines are being administered on daily basis and our target is to take to 300,000.
The Special Assistant said that the government has pursued a well-thought-out strategy to procure the vaccine and so far deals for 30 million doses have been signed, terming it as satisfactory.
Dr. Faisal Sultan said that 19 million doses will be received by June 2021. He clarified that we are not relying on donations but 90 percent of the vaccine doses are being purchased.

ISLAMABAD (Dunya News) – In the wake of increasing coronavirus cases, the federal government has on Friday announced further restrictions to stop the spread of the pandemic.
The National Command and Operation Center (NCOC) Head Asad Umar said schools will remain closed in areas with positivity ratio of more than five percent while outdoor dining has also been banned till Eid after indoor dining.
He said offices will close at 02:00 PM and asked people to complete their Eid preparations without waiting for last days to avoid large gatherings.

PM Imran urged nation to follow SOPs to avoid complete lockdown.
ISLAMABAD (Dunya News) – Prime Minister Imran Khan on Friday, while briefing the nation about the prevailing situation in the country regarding COVID-19, said Pakistan Army will help police to ensure implementation on the coronavirus standard operating procedures (SOPs).
In a televised address after a meeting of the National Command and Operation Center (NCOC) in Islamabad, he regretted that the people are currently not observing caution. He warned if the people did not comply with the health guidelines, we will have to impose complete lockdowns in cities.
President seeks Ulema’s role in implementing COVID-19 SOPs during Ramazan

ISLAMABAD, Pakistan: President Dr. Arif Alvi has urged the Ulema and Mashaikh to play their leading role in implementing COVID-19 Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) during the Holy Month of Ramazan in Mosques and Imam Bargahs.
While chairing a virtual meeting on the observance of COVID-19 SOPs during the upcoming Holy Month of Ramzan at Aiwan-e-Sadr in Islamabad on Monday, the president advised the Ulema to get themselves vaccinated and act as role models in following all SOPs to contain the spread of the virus amidst the third wave of the COVID-19 pandemic.
