Police officer gunned down, IS terrorist arrested in Afghan capital - World News

2021-04-22 12:35:48 GMT2021-04-22 20:35:48(Beijing Time) Xinhua English KABUL, April 22 (Xinhua) One police officer was killed and one policeman wounded after two gunmen fired on them in western part of Kabul, capital of Afghanistan on Thursday, the latest in a string of targeted killings, the capital police confirmed. The shooting occurred in Karta-e-Chahar locality, Police District (PD) 3 at midday and the attackers fled shortly after opening fire on the policemen who were on duty in a district market place, the Kabul police said in a statement. On Wednesday night, personnel of National Directorate of Security (NDS), the country s national intelligence agency, arrested an Islamic State (IS) member in PD 12, in the eastern side of the city, the NDS confirmed on social media platform twitter.

Nine People Wounded in Kabul Car Bomb Attack At least nine people, including security force members, were wounded in a car bomb attack that targeted a convoy of the Afghan intelligence agency, the National Directorate of Security (NDS), in Kabul on Tuesday night, a source said on Wednesday.  The blast happened at around 9:45 pm local time at Shaheed Roundabout in Kabul s district 15 while a convoy of the NDS was passing through the area, sources said. Kabul police confirmed the blast but did not provide further details.  Kabul residents took to social media to say the explosion was “heavy” and that it was felt in different parts of the city.

A day earlier on Tuesday, the national capital Kabul had experienced three blasts, two on security personnel. A bomb blast, which targeted a convoy of the National Directorate of Security (NDS) or the country s counter-intelligence agency at 09:50 p.m. local time Tuesday, injured five people including civilians, Interior Ministry spokesman Tareq Arian confirmed.

21 Apr 2021 - 08:22 KABUL (Pajhwok): Five individuals have been wounded in a suicide bombing in Kabul, the Ministry of Interior (MoI) said on Wednesday. The massive overnight explosion was a suicide attack, targeting on the National Directorate of Security (NDS) personnel. a security source said. Tariq Aryan, spokesman for the Ministry of Interior, said the incident took place in the Shaheed square in the 15th police district at around 10pm. Without elaborating, the official said five individuals including civilians and security personnel were wounded in the blast. Two vehicles were damaged in the explosion, which also has caused financial losses to shops and houses in the area.
