A national data-sharing agreement to enable better emergency, policing, licensing and government services across all tiers of government is to be developed after national cabinet endorsed the concept of linking all jurisdictions together.
National cabinet agreed on Friday that jurisdictions will work together to capitalise on the value of public data to achieve better outcomes for Australians.
”In order to achieve this, first ministers committed to develop an intergovernmental agreement which will be considered at a future national cabinet meeting,” Prime Minister Scott Morrison said.
A nationally consistent all hazards warning system is being set up as part of a program to better share data between the states and Commonwealth.
