Inauguration Day brought many firsts in our nation s history | PennLive letters

Inauguration Day brought many firsts in our nation’s history | PennLive letters Updated Jan 31, 2021; The entire day and evening of Jan. 20, ending with the spectacular fireworks, was truly a most significant time for so many tremendous “firsts” in our nation’s history. The day was filled with with the most decent atmosphere, the diversity of how America truly looks today, and was shown all over America and around the World. January 20, 2021 definitely had a powerful and positive impact on me, especially after four years of complete chaos. I am truly hoping that if many people would put aside their political registration and views, they, too, will admit, maybe at least, to themselves, that what we all saw and heard was what I think most people sincerely want for all of us and for the very future of our beloved America.

JOHN EGGERS COLUMN: By now you know Amanda Gorman, right? You will never have to motivate your students again to read or write a poem. Just have them listen to and watch Amanda Gorman recite her poem. That’s all the motivation you will need.  Written By: John Eggers | × Man oh man! Holy cow! Jeepers creepers! Good golly, Miss Molly! Wow and wow again! If you have not yet heard Amanda Gorman read her poem for President Biden’s Inauguration Day, stop doing what you are doing and find it on the internet. I doubt if you have ever, ever heard someone read a poem quite like Gorman did on Jan. 20.
