National Express West Midlands is the leading bus operator in the area, serving more than 1 million passengers each day, and retailers are being encouraged to prepare for a possible increase in demand for ticketing services as restrictions on travel in parts of England is lifted over Christmas.
Customers will need to download the mTicket app to complete a transaction and present a barcode to the retailer. The retailer will scan the barcode, select the correct ticket type, and process the payment. The ticket will then appear immediately in the customer’s e-wallet via the app for travel. However, customers who want to purchase a ticket using cash will be able to do so.
