NAB’s effective Anti-Corruption Strategy yielding excellent results
Islamabad, February 25, 2021 (PPI-OT): Honourable Justice Mr. Javed Iqbal has said that corruption is the mother of all evils. NAB has devised a comprehensive National Anti-Corruption Strategy to eradicate corruption and recover looted money from corrupt elements across the board which has started yielding excellent results. He said that all ranks of NAB officers are absolutely committed to root out corruption in an atmosphere of renewed energy and dynamism, where fight against corruption is being taken as a national duty.
He said that NAB’s major focus is on corruption and corrupt practices i.e.; money laundering, cases of cheating the public at large, wilful bank loan defaults, misuse of authority and embezzlement of state funds. Since NAB’s inception, one of NAB’s major achievements has been the recovery of around Rs.466.069 billion which is a great achievement as per the annual report of 2019 of NAB.

There is one area of reform that is critical to the future trajectory of the country, its economy and the wellbeing of all who dwell in this lovely land. Reform is most urgently needed in the Jacob Zuma-blighted criminal justice administration in our nascent constitutional democracy, a new form of government for South Africa embraced by the majority of voters in 1994.
The current criminal justice administration, by the admission of its leadership, has been hollowed out, compromised, filled with “saboteurs” and rendered dysfunctional due to the ravages of the Zuma-era State Capture project. The innards of that project are currently being revealed in detail and shock by the evidence meticulously presented before the State Capture Commission presided over by Deputy Chief Justice Raymond Zondo.
