According to the press release, this ambush took place on Tuesday afternoon in the Batouma forest during an escort mission of the National Guard for the Malian Solidarity Bank from Douentza, region of Mopti. The soldiers responded with strong resistance and were able to evacuate the area with the vehicle carrying the three bank agents, the ministry said, adding that two soldiers were killed and five wounded, with one of them in serious condition.
