BCPD Precinct 11 seeking donations for Family Crisis Center

ESSEX — Precinct 11 of the Baltimore County Police Department is hosting a collection drive to benefit the Family Crisis Center, an organization which supports survivors of domestic violence, as part of the department’s National Crime Victims’ Week activities. The precinct has collaborated with the Family Crisis Center in the past, according to Officer Michael Lewis, one of the central organizers of the drive. “It’s just the right thing to do,” Lewis said. “We’re just trying to support these families.” The precinct is seeking personal hygiene items such as shampoo, deodorant, soap, combs and brushes, diapers, pull ups, socks, bath towels, infant formula, baby food, baby wipes, sanitizer, pack and play sheets and umbrellas.

CAC promotes awareness during National Child Abuse Prevention Month and National Crime Victim’s Rights Week OSWEGO COUNTY - This year, The Child Advocacy Center of Oswego County marks 20 years of service to the children and families of the community. Founded in 2001, the CAC is a safe, child-friendly environment that supports a timely, multi-disciplinary response to child sexual abuse, physical abuse and trauma while promoting healing of survivors and their families. In addition to special events, awareness campaigns and education throughout the year, the CAC promotes awareness during the month of April as part of National Child Abuse Prevention month which recognizes the importance of families and communities working together to prevent child abuse and neglect. Through this collaboration, prevention services and supports help protect children and produce thriving families.

LAVA Community Support Event Goes Virtual LAVA News: In order to ensure that the community can safely show support for victims, the Los Alamos Police Department’s Victim Assistant (LAVA) National Crime Victims’ Rights Week (NCVRW) Community Support Walk will be a virtual event. There will not be an in-person event. At the Turquoise Level, an event can be held with a mass gathering limit of 150 persons, or 200 vehicles. The safest way to ensure that these limits are not exceeded is to provide t-shirts to individuals and individual families at a scheduled time and host a virtual event, rather than in-person.

Local law enforcement agencies wearing colors of support for victims of crime

KNBN NewsCenter1 April 21, 2021 RAPID CITY, S.D. Members of the the Pennington County Sheriff’s Office and Rapid City Police are wearing colors of support for victims of crime. Dozens of staffers gathered in front of the Public Safety Building on Wednesday wearing either purple, teal, or dark blue. Purple represents this week as National Crime Victim’s Rights Week, Teal is for Sexual Assault Awareness Month, and dark blue signified Child Abuse and Neglect Awareness Month. The two law enforcement agencies posed for a photo to help raise awareness of these victims and support their rights. The hope is to send a message to victims that they are not alone and that help is available.
