Idaho joins the nation in marking 40th anniversary of National Crime Victims Rights Week | News

BOISE — National Crime Victims’ Rights Week is marking its 40th anniversary in Idaho and across the nation this week, and Marsy’s Law for Idaho is helping raise awareness about the challenges facing crime victims, the need for stronger rights and more resources essential to supporting victim needs. The theme for 2021 — “Support Victims. Build Trust. Engage Communities” — takes on even more significance amid the pandemic and the impact it’s had on rising reports of domestic violence, sexual abuse, child abuse and other crimes against persons. The mission of NCVRW21 also highlights the importance of leveraging and supporting organizations dedicated to helping victims of crime and ensuring they have the resources to support their work.

President Joe Biden Proclaims April 18 through April 24, 2021 as National Crime Victims’ Rights Week Published: Tuesday, 20 April 2021 05:53 April 20, 2021 – Last Friday, President Joe Biden proclaimed April 18 through April 24, 2021, as National Crime Victims’ Rights Week. Millions of people in the United States are victims of crime every year.  Some endure horrific acts of violence, some have personal possessions damaged or stolen, and others are defrauded or exploited financially.  Whatever the crime, many victims lose something that can never be fully recovered:  a sense of trust and safety.  Yet we find inspiration and hope in their stories of triumph over adversity and resilience in the wake of tragedy.  During this 40th National Crime Victims’ Rights Week, we support crime victims throughout the United States and the many dedicated people who serve them.
