The district has been named a 2021 Best Community for Music Education by the National Association of Music Merchants and the Music Research Institute at the University of Kansas. This is the district’s 14th consecutive year receiving the recognition. “I think it says a lot for the community of Troy. Baldwin School District receives national recognition for music education Listen to the content of this post: MILLEDGEVILLE, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT) The Baldwin County School District is one of eight Georgia districts being recognized nationally for its music education program. The National Association of Music Merchants designated the district as a best community for music education. It’s one of 686 districts in 40 states to receive the designation. The district, which offers general music to around 5,000 students, says it wants to keep music as a curriculum option. “The program emphasizes passion,” James McMillan, Director of Bands at Baldwin High School, said. District leaders say research shows music education improves the brain, speech and the reading process.

Apr 26, 2021 SINCLAIRVILLE The Cassadaga Valley Central School District has again been recognized as “One of the Best Communities for Music Education” by the National Association of Music Merchants. CVCS received the award for the second year in a row. The NAMM designation is awarded to districts across the nation that demonstrate an achievement in efforts to provide music access and education to all students. “Our school age programs from pre-kindergarten to grade 12 are extremely diverse,” said Nicole Zenns, CVCS middle/high school music teacher. “This year we have expanded with a new music technology lab and sound recording equipment. We offer a guitar class and two different Jamestown Community College “College Connections” courses, in addition to traditional band, choir, and general music classes.
