Just days after Vaisakhi the harvest festival that marks the start of the Sikh New Year America’s Sikh community was left petrified by a bloody massacre.
Among the eight victims who died in the mass shooting at an Indianapolis FedEx Facility on April 15, four were Sikh.
“I have several family members who work at the particular facility and are traumatised,” community member Komal Chohan, whose 66-year-old grandmother Amarjeet Kaur Johal was among the victims, said in a Sikh Coalition press release. “My
nani (grandmother), my family, and our families should not feel unsafe at work, at their place of worship, or anywhere. Enough is enough our community has been through enough trauma.” Johal was found with a paycheck in hand, ready to leave to celebrate a grandchild’s birthday.

World Channel, through public TV stations, will show this film Dec. 24-25 âduring prime time in all time zones in the country targeting 80 percent of the United States,â according to a press release, which added that there will be â97 prime time airings in 68 cities and 151 airings in total in 86 cities.â
The film will reach 71 million households and will potentially reach 170 million people, said the release.
Directors Jerry Krell and Adam Krell of Auteur Productions spent 10 months to produce the film, which was shot in India, Pakistan and various parts of the U.S.

Washington [US], December 22 (ANI): The first-ever English documentary on Guru Nanak Dev, the founder of Sikhism, will be seen all over America during the Christmas holidays.
From December 23 to 25, World Channel through public TV stations will show this film during prime time in all time zones in the country targeting 80 percent of the United States. There will be 97 primetime airings in 68 cities and 151 airings total in 86 cities, the National Sikh Campaign said in a statement.
