The Isak-Muivah faction of the National Socialist Council of Nagaland, or NSCN (I-M) could be using a new extremist group as a front for extortion in Assam, officials of security forces engaged in counter-insurgency operations said.
Kohima (Nagaland) [India], May 28 (ANI): Two men, suspected to be cadres of the National Socialist Council of Nagaland (KN), were apprehended for extortion on Friday by security forces in a joint operation in Nagaland's Phek district.

GUWAHATI: At least six Dimasa National Liberation Army (DNLA) extremists were killed on Sunday in an encounter with the police and Assam Rifles in the Dhansiri Area of Karbi Anglong district, a top police official said.
Four AK-47 rifles, as many revolvers, some live grenades, improvised guns and huge rounds of ammunition were found from the slain militants.

Six members of the outlawed Dimasa National Liberation Army (DNLA) were killed in an encounter with security forces near the Assam-Nagaland border early on Sunday, officials said.
A large number of arms and ammunition was recovered from the militants after the gunfight with a joint team of the paramilitary Assam Rifles and the State police.
“In an early morning operation by @assampolice and Assam Rifles, six DNLA terrorists were neutralised in Dhansiripar area of Karbi Anglong district,” tweeted State’s Special Director General of Police G.P. Singh.
The NSCN (Khaplang-Yung Aung) is in sync with a unit of NSCN (Isak-Muivah), said to operate independently of the parent organisation headquartered in Nagaland
