Today, National Merit Scholarship Corporation (NMSC®) announced this year’s National Merit $2500 Scholarship winners. The 2,500 Merit Scholar designees were chosen from a talent pool of some 16,000 outstanding Finalists in the 2021 National Merit Scholarship Program.
Congratulations to Greenwich High School students Skyler McDonnell, Iris Wenxin Shi, and Samuel Florin, Sacred Heart Greenwich student Cecilia Duncan, and Brunswick student Jackson DaPuzzo for being named National Merit $2500 Scholarship winners!
National Merit $2500 Scholarship winners are the Finalists in each state judged to have the strongest combination of accomplishments, skills, and potential for success in rigorous college studies. The number of winners named in each state is proportional to the state’s percentage of the nation’s graduating high school seniors.

Tecumseh High School senior named finalist for National Merit Scholarship

TECUMSEH A Tecumseh High School senior has been named a finalist for the prestigious 2021 National Merit Scholarship Program.
Anne Roesch, daughter of Ross and Kara Roesch of Tecumseh, was one of 15,000 high school students nationwide to be selected for the honor, according to a Tecumseh Public Schools news release.
Roesch’s selection came after a highly competitive process that required her to take the Preliminary SAT/National Merit Scholarship Qualifying Test at the beginning of her junior year.
Roesch’s high scores earned her a spot as a semifinalist. To become a finalist, Roesch was required to submit a detailed scholarship application in September, which included her academic records, school and community activities and more, according to the release, with the final goal of being selected to receive one of 7,500 National Merit Scholarships totaling over $30 million
