The climate crisis will affect the whole country, but according to a new forecast study, Terengganu will be in trouble in the next couple of decades.
First, the state is expected to experience severe drought between 2025 to 2030 due to El Nino, then followed by frequent flooding between 2030 to 2035.
The new forecast study was jointly conducted by the Malaysian Administrative Modernization and Management Planning Unit (MAMPU) together with the National Water Research Institute of Malaysia (NAHRIM).
The results were produced via ‘big data’, which can predict climate change patterns up to 100 years from now.
