14th International Children’s Film Festival to commence from January 30 Arts & Entertainment Desk Arts & Entertainment Desk
The 14th edition of the International Children s Film Festival, organised by Children s Film Society Bangladesh, will commence from January 30. The six-day will be held across three venues where contributors from 37 countries will participate. A total of 179 films have been shortlisted from the submissions to be screened.
The programme will be inaugurated by Information Minister Dr Hasan Mahmud. The opening ceremony, presided over by eminent filmmaker Morshedul Islam who is also the founder of Children s Film Society Bangladesh, will be held at Shawkat Osman Auditorium of Sufia Kamal National Public Library at 4 pm on January 30.

Taipei, Dec. 18 (CNA) Forty-four members of the Moscow Classical Ballet, which had all its scheduled performances in Taiwan cancelled after eight of its members tested positive for COVID-19 this week, left Taiwan on three separate flights Friday.
A total of 42 members of the troupe boarded a Turkish Airlines flight at 10:05 p.m. bound for Istanbul, where they will take another flight back to Russia.
Two other members of the troupe left Taiwan for Japan and the United States earlier Friday.
They were all part of a 52-member group from the ballet company that arrived in Taiwan on Nov. 29 for a series of performances. The group had been scheduled to perform Dec. 16-20 at the National Theater Hall in Taipei and Dec. 25-27 at the National Kaohsiung Center for the Arts and the shows were expected to attract an audience of up to 15,000.
