KARACHI: National Rifle Association of Pakistan (NRAP) is in talks with a renowned Serbian coach for training of the shooters who have qualified for Tokyo Olympics.
âHe will confirm his availability by the end of this month. If he agrees, we will start training from May 15,â said Executive vice president of NRAP Javaid S Lodhi while talking to âThe Newsâ.
He added that Pakistan Sports Board has already approved the cost of training plan which may exceed Rs5 million.
âIf he is not available, he will arrange his assistant for the training but we will also look for other options,â said Javaid, adding that the coach will also accompany the shooters in international events, including Tokyo Olympics.

Usman gets clearance to compete in Shotgun World Cup in India

KARACHI: The Indian government has given clearance to Pakistanâs top shooter Usman Chand to participate in the ISSF Shotgun World Cup scheduled in New Delhi from March 18-29.
âIndian Embassy in Pakistan has taken required documents from Usman after getting clearance from New Delhi,â said Executive Vice President of National Rifle Association of Pakistan (NRAP) Javed Lodhi.
He added that hopefully the visa will be issued to him in a few days.
According to the entry list, Usman is to feature in the championship to play the skeet event.

New Delhi, March 5 : A decision on granting visa to the lone Pakistani skeet shooter, Usman Chand, desiring to compete in this month s New Delhi World Cup may come by the end of Friday.
National Rifle Association of Pakistan (NRAP) secretary general Razi Ahmed Khan said on Friday that the National Rifle Association of India (NRAI) had sent a No Objection Certificate (NOC) to the NRAP on Wednesday and that the same was submitted to the Indian High Commission in Islamabad on Thursday.

KARACHI: In a major development, Pakistan Sports Board (PSB) has decided to finance training and related matters of all those athletes who have qualified for this year’s Tokyo Olympics.
This correspondent has learnt that in the PSB Exco meeting held last month in Islamabad it was decided that training of three shooters and athlete Arshad Nadeem would be financed while Melbourne-based equestrian Usman Khan would be compensated for the purchase of the new horse. Usman’s previous horse Azad Kashmir died last year.
The PSB informed the Equestrian Federation of Pakistan (EFP) through a letter on January 4 that the PSB Executive Committee has decided to compensate Usman for the purchase of the new horse. The EFP has also been advised by the PSB to inform it of the cost of the new horse purchased by Usman for the purpose.
