THE Sijil Pelajaran Malaysia (SPM) 2020 exams start tomorrow and the Education Ministry assures parents that the health and safety of students is a priority.
Examinations Syndicate director Datuk Pkharuddin Ghazali said the ministry issued revised guidelines on Feb 9 titled “School Management and Operations Under the New Norm 2.0”, which is an improvement of previous versions of the document.
While the basis of the guidelines remain the same, certain improvements were made based on the country’s current Covid-19 situation, he said.
PETALING JAYA: All parties should follow the standard operating procedures (SOPs) and encourage children to abide by it with the reopening of schools early next March, says Tan Sri Lee Lam Thye.
The Alliance for Safety Community Chairman said this following the reopening of schools announcement by Education Minister Datuk Dr Mohd Radzi Md Jidin on Friday (Feb 19).
According to Lee, many parents, teachers and students have reacted positively to the announcement that education normalcy will return in stages.
He urged all parties to follow the SOPs and encourage the children to do so, including outside the school.
“Parents, teachers and the community have also been urged to help, wherever they can, to guide the children to follow the new SOPs, including during non-school hours.
PETALING JAYA: The primary school teacher in the spotlight over her poor English pronunciation while teaching science online has won a legion of fans, even as she admitted her shortcoming.
“I admit my weakness, and I’m prepared to learn and improve myself. I am proud to be a teacher, ” said Rafidah Rahmat on her Facebook page on Thursday after the 88-second clip of her maiden appearance on DidikTV went viral on Wednesday.
In the video, Rafidah was seen explaining the human reproductive system in an enthusiastic manner, although the presentation was filled with mispronunciations.
Some social media users mocked her, while others expressed concern over the quality of education pupils are getting.
