Shipping Ministry likely to sign MoUs worth Rs 12,000 cr at upcoming MIS 2021 By Amit Kumar | Updated: Feb 28, 2021 09:49 IST
New Delhi [India], February 28 (ANI): The Ministry of Ports, Shipping and Waterways is likely to sign 27 memorandums of understanding amounting to Rs 12,000 crore at the second Maritime India Summit (MIS) 2021, which is scheduled to take place from March 2 to March 4.
Ministry sources told ANI that these MoUs will be signed between the Ministry and Coal India Limited (CIL), Central Coalfields (CL), Vedanta Limited, National Industrial Corridor Development Corporation (NICD) Limited, Tata Steel and Essar Ports Ltd.
The MoUs are likely to be signed in the areas like Rail infrastructure development, maintenance of tracks, a logistics plan, DPR for Rewari project, training, awareness and preparation reports about PRT technology, development of ropeway, smart mobility and improve port efficiency.

GREATER NOIDA: Heeding to the long-pending demands of the villagers who gave up their land for the development of Greater Noida, GNIDA on Saturday decided to set up a skill development centre for them. The authority will also set up a separate department to streamline its working.
The centre will be established in the GNIDA office compound in Knowledge Park 4. Narendra Bhooshan,CEO of the authority, said, “It will be set up within the next 100 days and by the end of May, the first batch will be ready.”
The authority decided swiftly on this front as farmers affected by the Delhi-Mumbai Industrial Corridor (DMIC) had threatened to stop work in the absence of employment opportunities. The Greater Noida authority officials on Saturday held a meeting with senior officials of the National Industrial Corridor Development Corporation, the agency executing the DMIC project, and sought their support.
