Taylor Deland
LISBON –Taylor Deland, is the Columbiana County Career and Technical Center’s January Student of the Month. The daughter of Tina and Jack Best, and Wade Deland, she is a full-day CCCTC senior from Lisbon David Anderson High School and is enrolled in the Landscape and Environmental Design (LED) Program under the instruction of John Garwood.
Taylor serves as the secretary for the CCCTC Chapter of National Technical Honor Society, secretary of the Junior Fair Board, treasurer and secretary of the Rough Riders 4-H Club, reporter for the CCCTC FFA Chapter, and is a member of the Lisbon softball team.

GROWING FIELD Bailey Ebright, a junior in the health technologies program at Jefferson County Joint Vocational School, practices on her “patient” and said her education is giving her a great start in her future to become a neonatal nurse. BLOOMINGDALE Health care has been a consistent frontrunner in the career field and the health technologies program at Jefferson County Joint Vocational School has continued its mission to supply the demand for workers.
From nurses to phlebotomists, the program has churned out employees in all aspects of the industry. Instructor Tammy Sismondo said about 80 percent of her graduates move on to further their education with the largest percentage in nursing to medical assisting.

Fox Chapel Area High School and Dorseyville Middle School students won awards as part of the virtual 87th Annual Region 7 Meeting of the Pennsylvania Junior Academy of Science (PJAS).
District first-place winners were seniors Jackson Romero and Sanjay Seshan; juniors Zoe Lakkis and Siddharth Yende; sophomores Lawrence Liu and Arvind Seshan; freshmen Lakshanya Rajaganapathi and Adhitya Thirumala; and eighth graders Anna Delale-O’Connor, Etash Jhanji and Rohit Velankar.
First-place winners qualified for the state PJAS competition which will be held virtually in May.
