Slovenia logs 918 coronavirus cases for Wednesday, six deaths

Slovenia Times 30. April, 2021 Ljubljana – Slovenia saw its daily coronavirus count tick up again week-on-week after declining on Tuesday bank holiday. It logged 918 new infections on Wednesday, and six deaths, government data show. Marking an increase of 23% from a week ago, the latest cases were confirmed from 3,937 PCR tests for a positivity rate of 23.3%, the highest rate since 9 April. As many as 34,314 rapid antigen tests were also performed. Covid-19 hospitalisations rose by 15 to 636 despite 59 patients being discharged yesterday. The number of patients in intensive care rose by two to 157. The 7-day average of new cases rose to 632 from 606 the day before and the cumulative 14-day incidence per 100,000 residents increased by two to 439.

According to the weekly informing, until April 25 there were 1,536 sequencing cases reported to the INSP - CNSCBT. The 6 labs which reported these results are the Cantacuzino Institute, the Matei Bals Institute, Medlife, Stefan Cel Mare University of Suceava, Stefan S. Nicolau Institute of Virology and CRGM of SCJU Craiova. There were 978 cases confirmed with variants of SARS-CoV-2, which bring unease, of which the British strain (B.1.1.7) - 970, the South-African strain (B.1.351) - 5 and with the Brazilian strain (P.1) - 3.

Coronavirus count below 400 over bank holiday

Slovenia Times 29. April, 2021 Ljubljana – Slovenia saw 398 people test positive for coronavirus amid scaled-down testing on Tuesday, a public holiday. Another 15 Covid-19 patients lost their lives, official data show. Of the 2,007 PCR tests performed yesterday, 19.8% came back positive. A total of 4,143 people were screened with rapid antigen tests, according to Maja Bratuša, the government’s Covid-19 spokesperson. Hospitalisations fell by 28 to 621 after 26 patients were admitted and 40 were discharged yesterday. The number of patients in intensive care fell by six to 155. Data from the National Institute of Public Health (NIJZ) show the number of estimated active coronavirus cases in the country has fallen to 9,252.

Coronavirus/INSP: In last week 35 6% of cases - registered in Bucharest, Cluj, Timisoara, Prahova and Bihor

According to the weekly monitoring report, 28.6% of all deaths were recorded in Bucharest, Prahova, Constanta, Cluj and Bihor. Since the beginning of the pandemic, 1 in 77 of all COVID cases has been reported in medical staff. 85.7% of all deaths were in people over 60, and 58.4% of deaths were in men, according to the INSP. Also, 95% of people who died of COVID had at least one associated comorbidity, report agerpres.
