KUALA LUMPUR: National Film Development Corporation Malaysia (Finas) chairman Zakaria Abdul Hamid (pix) has tested positive for COVID-19 based on test results obtained yesterday.
Finas in a statement today said Zakaria would observe the quarantine period as recommended and would be monitored by the Ministry of Health (MOH).
“In his absence, Finas will continue to operate as usual. Zakaria thanks all parties who have prayed for his well-being and apologises for any inconvenience caused, read the statement. –

KUALA LUMPUR, May 4 The National Film Development Corporation Malaysia (Finas) chairman Zakaria Abdul Hamid has tested positive for Covid-19.
In a statement, Finas confirmed that Zakaria tested positive for the infectious disease on Monday (May 3).
It also noted that Zakaria was now in quarantine following the Health Ministry’s recommendations and observations.
Finas assured that all of its operations would proceed as normal in Zakaria’s absence.
“Zakaria thanks all parties who have prayed for his well-being and apologises for any inconveniences caused,” read the statement.

KUALA LUMPUR: The National Film Development Corporation Malaysia (Finas), in collaboration with Radio Televisyen Malaysia (RTM), is offering the PELAKSANA 3.0 Kenegaraan Fund to local production companies to boost the production of national-themed creative content.
Finas’ Corporate Communications Unit, in a statement, said that the fund will also be able to help regenerate the creative industry economy, affected by Covid-19.
“The fund is offered to local production companies to produce works for special national-themed programmes, on television station platforms, in mini-series (eight episodes) and supertelemovie categories,” the statement read.
Apart from that, Finas, in collaboration with Media Prima, also invites local production companies to apply for the TV/OTT (over-the-top) programme fund for the production of supertelemovies.
