IARN President-elect Joe Biden last week nominated Katherine Tai, chief trade counsel for the House Ways and Means Committee, to serve as U.S. Trade Representative (USTR).
Agricultural organizations, such as the American Farm Bureau Federation (AFBF) and National Pork Producers Council (NPPC), voiced their support for Tai’s nomination. Today we hear from other industry spokespeople, as they express their hopes for trade in the new year, under a new Administration.

USDEC CEO nominated for U.S. Agriculture Secretary The US Dairy Export Council president and CEO, Tom Vilsack, has been nominated as U.S. agriculture secretary when the new administration takes office.
Vilsack, 70, was United States Secretary of Agriculture from 2009 to 2017, and was Governor of Iowa from 1999 to 2007.
National Milk Producers Federation president and CEO Jim Mulhern, said,
