Cumbria Police appeal for stalking victims to seek support following week of action

There were 506 reported crimes of stalking in Cumbria in 2020. National developments in crime recording now allow for every incident of stalking to be recorded as an individual crime. Of the 506 reported crimes, 74 per cent of these were domestic related. The constabulary is raising awareness of stalking behaviours and encouraged people to report incidents and access support services. A spokesman said: “If you feel like someone is contacting you in a way you find uncomfortable or don’t want, and you think you are being stalked, help is available now.
