Winter Storm Watch Starts Thursday
A winter storm watch begins Thursday evening and lasts through Saturday afternoon, the National Weather Service in Buffalo reported. The watch includes Chautauqua, Cattaraugus, Erie, Genesee and Wyoming counties. Total snow accumulations of more than 9 inches possible in the most persistent lake snows. Winds could gust as high as 35 mph. “Travel could be very difficult to impossible,” the weather service said. “The hazardous conditions could impact the morning or evening commute. … Narrow bands of heavy snow could impact portions of the region. Localized travel problems will be possible.”

The UPMC Hillman Cancer Center at UPMC Chautauqua radiology oncology practice located at 51 Glasgow Ave. closed on Friday, Dec. 18, and will no longer see patients.
Patients may continue to receive care at UPMC Hillman Cancer Center in Erie at 2500 W. 12th St. Hillman is one of only three National Cancer Institutes (NCI)-designated Comprehensive Cancer Centers in Pennsylvania and is one of the largest integrated community cancer networks in the United States.
The closest non-UPMC radiation oncology center is Cancer Care of Western New York at 117 Foote Ave. in Jamestown.
