ATHENS Greece registered 1,317 new coronavirus infections in the last 24 hours, with 7 of these identified at entry points to the country, the National Public Health Organization (EODY) reported on Monday.
Greece has confirmed 334,436 infections from the start of the pandemic (daily change: +0.4 pct). In the confirmed cases of the last 7 days, 69 infections are related to travel from abroad and 2,662 to other confirmed cases.
There are also 80 deaths recorded in the last 24 hours, bringing the total of pandemic victims to 10,087. Of these, 95.5 pct had an underlying condition and/or were 70 years old.

Greece broke the barrier of 10,000 COVID-19 deaths, according to the latest data from the National Public Health Organisation (EODY).
In the last 24 hours, as reported by EODY, 57 patients died and the total number of victims since the beginning of the pandemic is now 10,007.
At the same time, hospitals are under a lot of pressure, with 816 intubated patients.
Yesterday, EODY announced another 1,400 cases of COVID-19 in Greece with the infections in total since the beginning of the pandemic exceeding 333,000.
Attica remains in the biggest hotspot, with 676 cases identified yesterday.
The problem areas are mostly the centre and western suburbs of Athens, as well as Piraeus.

Greece has confirmed 331,730 infections from the start of the pandemic (daily change: +0.8 pct). In the confirmed cases of the last 7 days, 66 infections are related to travel from abroad and 3,219 to other confirmed cases.

Greece releases protocols for ferry travel

“Τhe green digital certificate, the rapid tests and self tests will be used for voyages with ferries,” Greece’s Shipping and Island Policy minister Yiannis Plakiotakis announced on Tuesday.
He said that ferries with cabins will start with 55% occupancy and 50% for ferries without cabins.
Health protocols will be reviewed and updated according to the course of the epidemiological data.
“In close cooperation with the Health Ministry’s agencies, of the National Public Health Organisation and the epidemiologists, we will market targeted interventions in the reviewing of the health protocols,” Plakiotakis added.
