New Delhi, Dec 29: Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Monday launched the ambitious National Common Mobility Card (NCMC) service for the Delhi Metro s Airport Express Line and stressed on the need for a unified technological interface to be used across services for furthering the development of the nation.

NCMC can be used at all transit locations making all new metro and transit payments interoperable via one card.
This latest inauguration falls under the umbrella of the Prime Minister s One Nation One Card initiative.

NEW DELHI, Dec 28: Inaugurating India’s first-ever driverless train operations on the Delhi Metro’s Magenta Line on Monday, Prime Minister Narendra Modi said his government unlike its predecessors has taken growing urbanisation as an opportunity and asserted that metro train services will be extended to 25 cities by 2025 from the current 18.
In his addresss via video-conferencing, he said the launch of the driverless train and start of the National Common Mobility Card, also inauguarated by him on Monday, at the Airport Express Line of the Delhi Metro are an attempt to make urban development future ready.

The string of elections and political flashpoints during the “unlock period is evident in the social media messaging of political leaders: across the spectrum, they are back to focusing on increasing their political capital.
Political feud had taken a backseat between 25 March and 31 May, when India went through four stages of lockdown. Back then, the coronavirus was the focus of about 29% of the tweets and retweets of the 20 politicians tracked by the weekly Mint Political Twitter Dashboard. But this fell to 2.7% between June and August, and further down to 0.6% between September and November, our analysis shows.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Monday inaugurated India s first-ever driverless train operations on Delhi Metro s Magenta Line, along with the fully operational National Common Mobility Card service, and said that India will have the metro service in more than 25 cities by 2025, as against in 18 cities currently.
The fully automated driverless train will run on the 37-kilometre long Magenta Line from Janakpuri West to Botanical Garden. It will eliminate the possibility of human error. After the start of driverless services on the Magenta Line, the Pink Line of the Delhi Metro is expected to have driverless operations by the mid of 2021.
NCMC to be fully operationalised on Delhi Metro’s Airport Express Line with RuPay 55
Mumbai: National Payments Corporation of India announced that the Delhi Metro Rail Corporation will accept the National Common Mobility Card (NCMC) for metro travel on the 23 km long Airport Express Line from New Delhi to Dwarka Sector-21 starting 28th December 2020.
With this initiative, more than 1 crore RuPay contactless cardholders can use their cards on this line seamlessly to board on the train and skip long ticketing queues. Passengers travelling on the Airport Line need not buy a separate token or card to board the train as their RuPay card will act as the travel ticket. This facility will be available on the entire Delhi Metro network by 2022.
