Having long been relegated to the fringes of sinological research, Taiwan studies is finally establishing itself as an independent, interdisciplinary field of studies. This development has important domestic implications for Taiwan, as it creates a space for more holistic and critical definitions of Taiwanese identity, inclusive of the multifarious experiences of Indigenous Austronesians, Hoklos, Hakkas, the so-called Mainlanders, and more recent migrants from Southeast Asia. Equally important are the international implications. The rise of Taiwan studies positively contributes to the nation’s soft power projection and helps shape discourse on Taiwan globally, as the relevance of Taiwan studies is arguably directly proportional to the relevance of Taiwan itself.

HÀ NỘI The law on managing the use of State capital invested in an enterprise s manufacturing has revealed shortcomings, according to the Ministry of Finance (MoF).
Đặng Quyết Tiến, director of the Department of Corporate Finance from the MoF, told a workshop held between the ministry and the World Bank (WB) in Hà Nội on Wednesday that: “The Law No 69/2014/QH13 created a legal corridor for the investment of State capital in production and business in enterprises with incentive mechanisms and policies that have improved the country s investment, however, there are still shortcomings seen over the past five years.”

Approximately 600,000 students and 27,000 lecturers from higher education institutions will have access to an abundant source of documents and data through access to a shared electronic library.
The $11.5 million project Building a shared electronic library for higher education institutions in Vietnam has been approved by the Prime Minister. The project is funded by the World Bank and implemented by the National Economics University.
