Four dead, four others injured in Bauchi autocrash

Share A ghastly motor accident that occurred at Wailo village along Bauchi – Maiduguri busy highway has claimed four lives while four others were critically injured. The accident was confirmed on Friday by the Sector Commander, Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC), Bauchi Sector Command, Assistant Corps Commander, Yusuf Abdullahi saying that the crash involved eight male adults. He also said that the multiple crashes happened on Thursday, 27th May 2021 at 2.45 pm and was caused by speed violation and wrongful overtaking by one of the vehicles involved in the accident. The FRSC Sector Commander further said that the FRSC was invited and its personnel responded within 30 minutes and arrived at the scene of the crash for a rescue operation.

Indiscriminate parking of trucks on expressway causing accidents

They told the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) in Badagry that the uncoordinated parking was causing accidents and hardship for other road users. NAN reports that since the Federal Government reopened land borders, some trucks carrying cement to the neighbouring countries like Republic of Benin, Togo, Ghana and Senegal, had been passing through the expressway. It reports that most of the trucks used to park along the expressway indiscriminately to take a respite before continuing with their journey outside the country.

Pandemonium as hoodlums clash with soldiers in Lagos

Scores were injured while many others were robbed at Oshodi area of Lagos when soldiers attached to the Nigeria Air Force clashed with motor park ‘officials’ popularly called hoodlums. Many persons believed to be urchins were whisked away by the soldiers at Capa Motor Park, Mosafejo area of Oshodi. Trouble started when the soldiers heard about the death of one of their colleagues who was allegedly murdered on Monday by hoodlums on Oshodi bridge. A source said the personnel of the Nigerian Air Force was allegedly murdered by hoodlums on Monday, his body was seen on top of the bridge on Tuesday and some government officials who were alerted evacuated the body to the mortuary.
