2023: Bauchi Gov Gets PDP s Approval to Run for President

Segun Awofadeji Bauchi State Governor, Senator Bala Mohammed, yesterday declared that he had got the go ahead of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in the state to run for president in the 2023 elections. The governor made the declaration when coalition of groups, including the National Youth Council of Nigeria (NYCN), National Union of Road Transport Workers (NURTW), National Union of Bauchi State Students (NUBASS), Bauchi State traders and artisans associations, as well as association of Achaba and Keke, visited him at the Government House to present a letter of endorsement to him as President Muhammadu Buhari’s successor. According to him, since his first endorsement few weeks ago by the northern youth leaders’ forum, he had commenced consultation, adding that the state working committee of the party had given him ‘a nod of approval’.

85 die in Edo auto-crashes in 6 months

Wed Jul 14 2021 Eighty-six people have died in various accidents that happened across Edo State between January and June this year. The Edo State Sector Commander of the Federal Road Safety Corps, Henry Benamaisia, gave the figure yesterday in Benin in an interview with our reporter on the crashes within the period under review. He said “a total of 717 persons were involved in the  accidents that happened in the state and that 85 died while 279 were injured. “Twenty-four persons died in the month of January, 13 died in February, 14 in March, 19 in April, four in  May while 11 died in June bringing the total number of deaths recorded in the period under review to 85”.
