3 injured in small plane crash near Florida school

PENSACOLA, Fla. (AP) Three people were injured when a small plane crashed near a Florida elementary school on Thursday, officials said.
The single-engine aircraft went down near Blue Angel Elementary in Pensacola, the Pensacola News Journal reported. No injuries were reported to anyone on the ground
Escambia County Fire Rescue Battalion Chief Steve Booth said students from nearby Naval Air Station Pensacola were driving by when they saw the crash. The students rushed toward the flaming wreckage and pulled the three occupants to safety, Booth said.
Two of the victims were taken to a hospital by helicopter as trauma alerts, while the third was transported by ambulance, officials said. Details about their conditions weren t immediately released.
At least four of the six people who died in a twin-engine plane crash in Truckee, California, on Monday had ties to the Coachella Valley.
The Nevada County Sheriff’s Office said all six people aboard the Bombardier CL 600 two pilots and four passengers died when it crashed Monday in a heavily wooded area near the Ponderosa Golf Course in Truckee, near the Northern California border with Nevada.
The aircraft went down several blocks from a runway as the pilot was trying to land at Truckee-Tahoe Airport, the Federal Aviation Administration said. The National Transportation Safety Board said the flight originated from Coeur d’Alene, Idaho.
Coast Guard to Hold Public Hearing on Seacor Power Disaster
The United States Coast Guard will begin formal hearings into the Seacor Power disaster starting on Monday.

Coast Guard officials will consider evidence related to the April incident in which 13 crew members died. According to the Coast Guard, The National Transportation Safety Board is the leading agency in the Seacor Power investigation, and will participate in the Coast Guard public hearing, but will produce an independent report with its own findings.
Coast Guard to Hold Public Hearing into Seacor Power Capsizing

The U.S. Coast Guard has scheduled a public hearing to consider evidence related to the capsizing of the U.S.-flag liftboat Seacor Power resulting in loss of 13 lives.
The 10-day public hearing will take place in Houma, Louisiana, beginning Monday, August 2nd, and last through August 13th. The hearing is open to the public and will also be streamed live online.
The Seacor Power capsized on April 13, 2021, approximately seven miles south of Port Fourchon with 19 crew members on board. Six were initially rescue and six were recovered unresponsive during the search and rescue. Seven were never found.
