TEXARKANA, Texas (KSLA) - Local fishermen are sharing Wright Patman Lake with over 100 professional anglers for the National Professional Fishing League Tournament.
The event begins on Thursday, April 22, and will go through Saturday, April 24.
Boats launch from Sportsman Cove at around 6:30 am with weigh-in of the days catch at the Texarkana Texas Convention Center around 3:30 p.m. each day.
Angler’s will be judged by the total weight of catches over the three days.

(Photo courtesy of MegaCorp) During the Masters Tournament, pro golfer Brian Harman over the weekend donned a hat with the logo of Wilmington-headquartered MegaCorp Logistics for viewers to see throughout the internationally televised rounds.
The gear, worn by Harman at all of his tournaments, is part of a sponsorship the local logistics firm has held with the PGA Tour player since 2018, Katie Braskett, MegaCorp s director of marketing, said Monday.
Harman spent time on the leaderboard heading into the weekend in Augusta, tying for second behind eventual winner Hideki Matsuyama. He ended up tied for 12th after the final round Sunday, which draws millions of viewers. Harman and his MegaCorp hat head next to the RBC Heritage this week in Hilton Head, South Carolina.
COVID cases are down and spring is in the air! It s the perfect time for a fishing tournament. The City of Texarkana, Texas and the Texarkana USA Regional Chamber of Commerce have announced they will be hosting the National Professional Fishing League (NPFL) tournament April 22 – 24, 2021.
Up to 110 anglers arrive in our area starting on April 18 for three practice days. The t ournament will take place at Wright Patman Lake on Thursday, Friday, and Saturday. Weigh-ins will be held each afternoon of the tournament at the Texarkana Texas Convention Center, beginning at 3:30 PM.
The NPFL is a bass fishing competition between 110 of the best anglers competing in the country. According to a press release, the NPFL hosted its first tournament of the year in Eufaula, AL. The winner took home $50,000. Texarkana is the second stop on the tour.
