New Delhi [India], May 25 (ANI): A consignment of 10.20 Metric Tonnes MT of value-added products of organically certified gluten-free jackfruit powder and retort packed jackfruit cubes were exported to Germany from Bengaluru on Tuesday via sea route.
The jackfruit has been processed in the Agricultural and Processed Food Products Export Development Authority (APEDA) assisted packhouse owned by Phalada Agro Research Foundations (PARF), Bengaluru. APEDA registered PARF represents a group of 1500 farmers with a wide coverage of around 12,000 acres farms. These farmers grow medicinal and aromatic herbs, coconut, jackfruit, mango puree products, spices and Coffee, an official statement said.

About 10.2 tonnes of gluten-free value-added products were shipped from Bengaluru via sea route.
About 10.2 tonnes of value-added products of organically certified gluten-free jackfruit powder and retort packed jackfruit cubes were exported to Germany from Bengaluru through the sea route on Tuesday. These products were processed at the APEDA assisted packhouse owned by Phalada Agro Research Foundation, Bengaluru.
PARF represents a group of 1,500 farmers, who grow medicinal plants, aromatic herbs, coconut, jackfruits, spices and coffee, among other products in around 12,000 acres, APEDA said in a statement.
PARF facilitates the certification process as per National Programme for Organic Production (NPOP), European Union, National Organic Programme (the United States) standards, and small farmers groups. In a major boost to organic products exports from the country, first consignment of millets grown in the Himalayas from the snow-melt water of the Ganges in “Dev Bhoomi” (Land of God) – Uttarakhand – would be exported to Denmark, according to the Ministry of Commerce and Industry.
Agricultural and Processed Food Products Export Development Authority (APEDA ), in collaboration with Uttarakhand Agriculture Produce Marketing Board (UKAPMB) and exporter Just Organik, have sourced and processed ragi (finger millet), and jhingora (barnyard millet) from farmers in Uttarakhand for exports, which meets the organic certification standards of the European Union.

New Delhi [India], May 5 (ANI): India has begun exporting millets sourced from farmers in Uttarakhand, which meet the organic certification standards of the European Union, to Denmark.
According to a release from the Ministry of Commerce & Industry, APEDA, in collaboration with Uttarakhand Agriculture Produce Marketing Board (UKAPMB) and Just Organik, an exporter, has sourced & processed ragi (finger millet), and jhingora (barnyard millet) from farmers in Uttarakhand for exports.
UKAPMB procured millets directly from these farmers which have been processed in the state-of-art processing unit built by mandi board and operated by Just Organik.
