The Health Ministry announced three more Covid-19 fatalities Thursday morning, raising the national death toll to 105 since the beginning of the pandemic. The three victims are in Ho Chi Minh City, the central hub Da Nang and the northern Bac Giang Province. All are elders that have suffered several chronic diseases before catching Covid-19. The patient in HCMC is a 74-year-old man living in District 4. He was admitted to the Covid-19 field hospital in the city’s Can Gio District on June 18 before being transferred to the Trung Vuong Hospital in District 10 one week later.

Vietnam recorded five more Covid-19 deaths Wednesday morning, bringing the national fatality tally to 102. Among the patients, one was recorded in the northern Bac Giang Province and four in HCMC, including three who had no underlying conditions. All four HCMC patients were treated at the city s Pham Ngoc Thach Hospital, according to the Ministry of Health. A 49-year-old man in Nha Be District tested positive for the coronavirus on June 19 and died on July 2 due to pneumonia caused by Covid-19, septic shock and kidney damage.
