Vietnam recorded 17 new cases of COVID-19 over the past six hours to 6pm on May 10, including 16 domestically-transmitted infections, the Ministry of Health said.

All of the 16 cases were detected in locked down areas, comprising six in the northern province of Hung Yen, four in the central city of Da Nang, three in northern Bac Giang province, two in Hanoi and one in northern Vinh Phuc province.

A lax mentality that breached prevention protocols has worsened the situation of virus variants and other factors that Vietnam is dealing with in its fourth Covid-19 wave.
After going for more than a month without any Covid-19 community transmission, the streak snapped on April 27 with a hotel employee infected by a group of Indian experts quarantined at the hotel in the northern province of Yen Bai.
Two days later, six more local cases were recorded in the northern province of Ha Nam. The cases stemmed from one man who finished his mandatory 14-day quarantine period after returning from Japan, but neglected post-quarantine self-isolation protocols and ended up passing the virus to others.
Vietnam records 32 COVID-19 cases on May 10 morning Thirty two new COVID-19 cases were detected in the morning of May 10, including 31 domestic infections and one imported, the Ministry of Health (MoH) said.
The new infections took the total number to 3,444, including 442 locally-transmitted infections detected since the latest outbreak hit the country on April 27.
The local transmissions were detected in Hanoi (21 cases, including 12 at the Kim Chung facility of the National Hospital for Tropical Diseases), northern Bac Giang province (7), northern Hoa Binh province (1), northern Hai Duong province (1) and central Da Nang city (1).
According to the MoH’s Medical Service Administration, 2,602 patients had been given the all-clear from coronavirus SARS-CoV-2.

HÀ NỘI – The Hà Nội Centre for Disease Control reported five domestically transmitted COVID-19 infections on Sunday morning.
Among the new cases, four were connected to the outbreak in Bắc Ninh Province and the other was from the National Hospital for Tropical Diseases, Kim Chung facility.
The four patients are 12th graders living in Gia Lâm District. They are classmates of two COVID-19 patients at Kinh Bắc High School, Hoà Mãn Commune, Bắc Ninh Province’s Thuận Thành District.
