The Health Ministry on Saturday night confirmed 65 new domestic Covid-19 infections in 13 provinces and cities, raising the tally during the fourth coronavirus wave to 241. Hanoi took the lead with 22, followed by northern province of Bac Ninh (17), Da Nang (8), Vinh Phuc Province (7) and Hung Yen Province (3), both in the north. Hai Phong, Quang Ninh, Bac Giang, Hai Duong, Thai Binh, Nam Dinh, Quang Nam provinces and Hue reported one case each. Among 22 confirmed cases in Hanoi, 14 are patients, and family members of patients at the National Hospital for Tropical Diseases, which has been put under lockdown after the frontline hospital in the Covid-19 fight became a coronavirus hotspot.

Source: District 9 health centre HCM CITY HCM City hospitals are on high alert and are taking strict preventive measures against COVID-19 after 42 new cases were recorded at a facility of National Hospital for Tropical Diseases in Hà Nội’s Đông Anh District. All healthcare staff and others entering local medical facilities must have their temperature taken, fill out online health declaration forms, and wash their hands before entering. Hospitals will use only one entry and exit door, and will regularly disinfect the property. They will also ensure that all staff are tested for COVID-19. Most health workers and other staff have already been vaccinated as part of the recent national vaccination drive.

AFP A new round of coronavirus infections in Vietnam has spread to a swath of cities and provinces from a facility of the National Hospital for Tropical Diseases in the capital Hanoi, the country’s latest COVID-19 epicenter, according to state media reports. As of Thursday, 52 confirmed cases originating from the hospital were found in 15 different cities and provinces, including Hanoi with nine cases, Hai Duong province with seven cases, and Vinh Phuc and Thai Nguyen provinces with five cases each, the reports said. Other provinces and cities in Vietnam are continuing to trace the movement of people who were in the medical facility from April 14 to May 5, the day that the hospital was put into isolation.
