The National Drugs & Organised Crime Bureau (GNDOCB) seized drugs valued at €28.2 million during the period 1 January to 30 April 2021, a 392% increase over the same period last year when drugs valued at €5.7m were seized.  Speaking today, Senator Mary Seery Kearney said: “I want to congratulate the Gardai on their very significant drug seizure to date this year. The seizures made by the GNDOCB in the first four months of this year alone, including €3.8m in cash, reveal the extraordinary magnitude of the intent to supply drugs in communities.

Minister Humphreys welcomes significant Garda drug seizures in year to date You are here: Home Minister Humphreys welcomes significant Garda drug seizures in year to date   Drugs valued at over €28m seized by National Drugs & Organised Crime Bureau in first 4 months of year Figures represent near 400% increase on same period in 2020     The Minister for Justice, Heather Humphreys TD, has welcomed the very significant volume of drugs seizures made by the Garda National Drugs and Organised Crime Bureau (GNDOCB) in the period from 1 January to 30 April 2021.   The total drugs seized by the GNDOCB in the first 4 months of the year is valued at €28.2m. This represents an increase of 392% over the same period last year, when drugs valued at €5.7m were seized. In addition, approximately €3.8m in cash has been seized in the same period, an increase of 183% over the same period in 2020, when €1.3m was seized.
