HONOLULU, Hawaii (HawaiiNewsNow) - A wind advisory that was posted for most of the state was allowed to expire early Sunday morning.
The advisory was issued Saturday for the possibility of strong east winds of 20 to 35 miles per hour with gusts near 50 miles per hour.
The strongest winds occurred from Saturday afternoon into the evening. Lanai City and Kailua-Kona recorded gusts near 50 miles per hour.
The strong winds were also believed to have played a part in several power outages on Oahu and Maui.
