Residents in the Historic Triangle might want to bundle up come Friday morning.
The National Weather Service Wakefield office predicts anywhere from 2-4 inches of snow with temperatures around 30 degrees.
“That’s what we expect right now,” said Mike Rusnak, meteorologist at the NWS Wakefield office, adding the forecast could vary depending on the temperature.
On Thursday evening around 8-9 p.m. residents can expect a cold, wintry mix and temperatures around 30 degrees through Friday morning, he added.
Rusnak noted temperatures will stay below freezing on Friday morning through noon and people should prepare for the 2-4 inches of snowfall and a light accumulation of ice up to a tenth of an inch.

Residents can expect a few snowflakes and some wind chill on Thursday, according to the National Weather Service Wakefield office.
“It’s definitely a gusty, blistery day tomorrow,” said Mike Montefusco, meteorologist at the NWS Wakefield office. “We are certainly looking at some chilly conditions over the next couple days.”
While the Tidewater area is expecting “potential for accumulating snow” on Wednesday night, the Historic Triangle won’t get much snow sticking to the ground.
“Well, in terms of the Triangle area, it really doesn’t look like much of a snow event this evening,” Montefusco said.
