This announcement came from Minister of Housing Dr William Duguid during Saturday’s live Government update on the damage from the storm. Nothing that 62 homes were completely destroyed and 743 damaged roofs were reported as of Saturday, Duguid said Government had already agreed to facilitate the rebuilding of several properties within the next two days. “Within 48 hours, we are going to try to get as many of the houses …  started; we are dividing that between the Urban Development Commission (UDC), the Rural Development Commission (RDC) and the National Housing Corporation (NHC). Lack of funds delay Mara regional hospital project 30 Lack of funds delay Mara regional hospital project CONSTRUCTION of the Mara Regional referral hospital is being hindered by delayed funds disbursement from the central government, it has been revealed. The situation has prompted project implementer the National Housing Cooperation (NHC) to request for additional six months to complete the project which was supposed to be handed over to the government in August last year. Mara Regional Administrative Secretary Catherine Mthapura said this yesterday when briefing Deputy Minister for Lands, Housing and Human Settlement Development, Dr Angelina Mabula who toured the region to inspect implementation of development projects.
