The protection of consumers in the online environment has recently taken flight in the Netherlands and is currently a hot topic in this jurisdiction for consumer protection organizations. These organizations actively collaborate with each other, as well as other EU organizations, to create a robust framework for the protection of consumers in the online environment. In this publication we highlight some of the most recent developments which should alert companies to ensure compliance and be aware that consumer protection organizations are monitoring and taking action.
