The Honey Creek Fire Department s training tower has finally been unveiled! This facility will not only help the firefighters but also the community they serve. The property was originally being used as a fuel stop for Vigo County school buses.

(WTWO/WAWV)  A two-year long process is complete offering firefighters at Honey Creek Fire Department the chance to hone their skills at a new training facility. This new facility will allow firefighters to simulate rescues and live burns as well as train in other areas that are crucial in their position. New recruit Gregory Slaton believes this facility will provide he and his station the opportunity to stay on their toes. “A lot of stuff we don’t we don’t do on the daily even guys that are our chiefs that have been doing this for 20 plus years, it can be months in between certain things that we do,” Slaton said. “No one here knows everything. It’s always good to sharpen your skills.”
