KINGSTON – Restaurants hoping to offer outdoor dining this year are directed to contact the town’s building department to determine if they are eligible.
Town officials are responding to calls from residents asking if outdoor dining will be allowed in Kingston.
Ultimately, restaurants that serve alcohol will need approval from the Alcoholic Beverages Control Commission, following a public hearing, but the selectmen are advising that restaurant owners first contact Building Inspector and Zoning Enforcement Officer Jason Silva.
Assistant to the Town Administrator and Board of Selectmen Gloria Mitchell said the order that set the rules for outdoor dining last year expired and new stricter standards for accessibility are in place. She said Silva should be able to help business owners determine if they can meet those standards.
