Des Moines County supervisors Thomas Broeker, chair, Jim Cary and Shane McCampbell met Tuesday to hear the latest COVID numbers and got some good news relative to all of 2020 from DMC public health director Christa Poggemiller. We re rolling out the vaccine, Poggemiller said.
She said as of Sunday 1,162 DMC residents were vaccinated for a DMC total of 1,537; out-of-county health workers and others who qualify are included in the overall total even though they don t live here. We gave more vaccines yesterday, so we anticipate that number will be higher come tomorrow, Poggemiller said, announcing that COVID vaccination numbers are now available online at coronavirus.iowa.gov and are updated Monday, Wednesday, and Friday.

Burlington, Ia- The Burlington Police Department made the arrest of a Burlington woman Friday, January 8th, in connection with an afternoon shooting.
On Friday January 8th, 2021 at approximately 1:26 pm the Burlington Police Department responded to a residence in the 1500 block of North 9th Street regarding a report of shots being fired. Upon arrival, officers learned an individual had sustained a gunshot wound. A Burlington Fire Department Ambulance crew responded to the scene and
transported the individual to Great River Medical Center in West Burlington. The injury is believed to be non-life-threatening.
Detectives from the Burlington Police Department’s Problem Oriented Policing Unit and Criminal Investigation Division responded and began investigating the shooting. During the investigation, detectives identified a suspect.

BURLINGTON, Iowa A Burlington woman was arrested after reportedly injuring another person with gunfire Friday afternoon.
According to a press release from the Burlington Police Department, at about 1:26 p.m. on January 8, police received a shots fired report coming from a residence in the 1500 block of of North 9th Street.
When officers arrived at the scene, they discovered a person that had been injured by an gunshot, who was rushed to the hospital. The injury is believed to be non-threatening.
Detectives on the investigation quickly identified a suspect: 33-year-old Burling resident Monica Nicole Autry.
Autry has been charged with Willful Injury, Assault Causing Serious Injury, Domestic Abuse Assault Causing Injury and is being held in the Des Moines County Correctional Center on no bond awaiting court appearance.

Burlington, Ia- Burlington Police have announced the arrest of a West Burlington man in connection with an early Tuesday morning shooting.
On Tuesday December 22nd , 2020 at approximately 3:02 am the Burlington Police Department responded to the 1500 block of South 13 th Street regarding several reports of shots being fired. Upon arrival, officers did not locate any victims but did locate a vehicle that had been struck by gunfire.
Officers spoke with witnesses who provided information regarding to a vehicle seen leaving the area shortly after the shooting. Officers promptly located the vehicle and identified the occupants. Detectives from the Burlington Police Department’s Problem Oriented Policing Unit
