Nobel Prize in Literature winner Kazuo Ishiguro and Stephenie Meyer, author of the famed Twilight series, are to hold virtual talks at the Taipei International Book Exhibition next month, the event’s organizers said yesterday.
The two writers are among the 46 international authors who are to address audiences via videoconferencing or prerecorded speeches, Taipei Book Fair Foundation director Wang Hsiu-yin (王秀銀) said.

Taipei, Dec. 29 (CNA) The author of the famed Twilight series Stephenie Meyer and Nobel literature prize winner Kazuo Ishiguro will give virtual talks at the Taipei International Book Exhibition (TIBE) in January, the organizers said Tuesday.
The two writers are among the 46 international authors who will participate in one-hour events at the 2021 book fair via video-conferencing or pre-recorded speeches, Taipei Book Fair Foundation (TBFF) Director Wang Hsiu-yin (王秀銀) said.
In a pre-recorded video on Jan. 31, Meyer will discuss her new book Midnight Sun, which retells the love story of the two main characters in the Twilight series from the perspective of the male, who is a vampire, Wang said at a press conference.

The Taipei Book Fair Foundation yesterday announced the winners of its annual awards, with graphic novels simultaneously receiving top honors in the fiction and nonfiction categories for the first time.
Ahead of the Taipei International Book Exhibition (TIBE) each year, the foundation unveils the winners of its TIBE Book Prizes, as well as the Golden Butterfly Awards for book design.
This year’s exhibition was held online for the first time after the event was postponed from February to May, and then canceled due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
