Why Hasnât There Been a Post-Thanksgiving COVID Spike in Wisconsin? By Casey Nelson

MADISON, WI (WTAQ) – There hasn’t been the predicted post-Thanksgiving spike in COVID cases across Wisconsin. In fact, the seven-day average of cases continues to decline.
That raises questions like whether Thanksgiving gatherings actually spread the virus and what caused the unexpected dip in numbers. Especially considering the notable travel done nationally for the holiday.
“Part of what’s contributing to not having an additional spike is that we maybe are not having as many people getting tested as we’d like to see,” said Bureau of Communicable Diseases Acting Director Tracy DeSalvo.
