Vinci and Bam among £90m Meridian Water winners
Vinci Taylor Woodrow, Bam Nuttall and VolkerFitzpatrick have been appointed to support delivery of £90m of infrastructure works at the £6bn Meridian Water project.
Enfield Council also announced Vinci Taylor Woodrow is its first ranked framework contractor to provide preconstruction services on the scheme.
Cash for £170m of infrastructure works was secured last year from the government’s Housing Infrastructure Fund. The three firms were shortlisted to deliver the works by master developer Enfield Council in January 2020.
The first tranche of the funding will be used to build roads, bridges, cycle lanes and parkland, as well as the water, gas and communications networks for the 10,000-home project.
A new film and TV studio will be built as part of the £6bn Meridian Water development in Edmonton, North London.
Enfield Council has agreed a deal with UK firm Troubadour Theatres to build the complex, as part of its 20-year regeneration programme that will feature 10,000 new homes at the site.
Troubadour Theatres is primarily known for its work creating theatre venues, particularly ‘pop-up’ arenas. Its most prestigious project to date is the transformation of the Old Fountain Studios in Wembley into the Troubadour Wembley Park Theatre for Quintain in 2019. Online promotional pages for the company do not list any previous film studio development work.
