LA CROSSE, Wis. (WXOW) - With vaccinations given to 16 percent of people in La Crosse County, there is still a ways to go in COVID-19 vaccination efforts, but health care professionals say progress is being made and light is at the end of the tunnel.
Bridget Pfaff, Administrative Director of the Infection Control Team at Gundersen Health System, said that vaccinations provide hope and encouragement that getting back to normal is possible.
That 16 percent translates into just over 19,000 people. Pfaff explained that those numbers show they aren t seeing much vaccine hesitancy which is a good thing. However, vaccine supply is still not coming fast enough and the ethics of distribution can be difficult because deciding who is getting it now and who has to wait isn t easy.
