Share with: The Trail of the Chicago 7 took home the top prize at Sunday s (04.04.21) SAG Awards.
The Netflix drama - which stars the likes of Yahya Abdul-Mateen II, Joseph Gordon-Levitt and Michael Keaton - was honoured with the Cast in a Motion Picture accolade at the virtual ceremony.
The Aaron Sorkin-helmed film is based on the infamous 1969 trial of seven men charged by the federal government with conspiracy and inciting a riot, as a result of the counterculture protests in Chicago at the 1968 Democratic National Convention.
Elsewhere, the late Chadwick Boseman was posthumously awarded Outstanding Performance by an Actor in a Leading Role for his portrayal of ambitious trumpeter Levee in Ma Rainey s Black Bottom .
Anya Taylor-Joy was unbelievably honoured to win her first Screen Actors Guild Award.
The 24-year-old actress took home the Female Actor in a Television Movie or Limited Series award for her lead role in the Netflix show The Queen s Gambit and she admitted it was mental to even be nominated.
Accepting the prize, she said: I m so unbelievably honoured to be in this room, even though it s not a room, it s still mental. It was such a privilege to get to work with the playmakers I got to work with. They were so beautiful and supportive and kind. A show isn t made by one person, it s made by everybody, and I m just so, so grateful that I get to do this.
Nicole Kidman, 53, looked strikingly like Elsa from Frozen as she prepared for the 2021 Screen Actor Awards. She wore a sheer white beaded dress with her blond locks tied into a side ponytail.
Anya Taylor-Joy, Mark Ruffalo are early SAG Award winners

Anya Taylor-Joy and Mark Ruffalo were among the first winners announced on the pre-recorded Screen Actors Guild Awards ceremony airing on TNT and TBS Sunday night.
ADVERTISEMENT Taylor-Joy earned the honor for Outstanding Actress in a TV Movie or Limited Series for The Queen s Gambit and Ruffalo won for Outstanding Actor in a TV Movie or Limited Series for I Know This Much is True.
The SAG Awards show honoring excellence in film and TV acting doesn t have a host and will only run one hour this year.
