Muscat: All telecommunications services that were affected by climatic conditions have been restored in the North and South Al Batinah Governorates, Telecommunications Regulatory Authority (TRA), announced on Wednesday.
A statement issued online by TRA said: As a result of the efforts made by the Telecommunications Regulatory Authority in cooperation with the operators, all telecommunications services affected by climatic conditions have been restored in the North and South Al Batinah Governorates.

Oman Telecommunications Company SAOG Group (Omantel) announces on Tuesday that it has entered into an agreement to sell its passive mobile tower infrastructure assets to Helios Towers plc for a cash consideration of $575 million.
Under the agreement, Omantel will sell only its passive mobile infrastructure assets comprised of 2,890 towers in the country and enter into a long-term master services agreement to continue to utilize the tower assets.

The Telecommunications Regulatory Authority (TRA) said efforts are underway to restore telecommunications services in the governorates of North and South al-Batinah, which have been affected by the weather.
The total of the affected stations include 102, and 75 percent of them have been returned to work.
Heavy rains and active winds in Saham, Al-Khaboura, Al-Suwaiq, and Seeb caused many damages to properties due to the uprooting of a number of trees and palms, collapse of walls roofs built with unstable materials.
Some farm animals were also killed during the unstable weather conditions.
