With 39,361 new Covid-19 cases in India in the last 24 hours, the daily positivity rate jumps up to 3.41 per cent from yesterday s 2.31 per cent. For 34 consecutive days until yesterday, the country s daily positivity rate was less than 3 per cent. Presently, the active caseload of India is 411,189. 416 deaths were also reported in the last 24 hours. The death toll of India now stands at 420,967. As per the Union Ministry of Health, 35,968 patients recovered during the last 24 hours, taking the cumulative recoveries in India to 30,579,106. Presently, the recovery rate is at 97.35 per cent.

Centre Asks States To Register Children Orphaned Due To COVID-19 Pandemic Under PM Cares For Children Scheme Within 15 Days

PM Modi (Pic Via Twitter) The Government has asked the States and Union Territories (UTs) to direct the district magistrates (DMs) to identify children who have lost their parents or guardians to COVIUD-19, and to upload their details on the recently launched pmcaresforchildren.in , Times of India. Upon registration on the said portal, the children will begin to receive support and prompt assistance under the PM Cares for Children scheme. The Union Ministry of Health and Family Welfare (MoHFW) had written to the State Governments and UT administrations on bygone 22 July and asked them to complete the task within the next 15 days.

Physical classes in colleges, higher education institutions in Karnataka to resume from today

Highlights Physical classes in higher education institutions are all set to resume from Monday in Karnataka. Over 74 percent of students above 18 years of age have been vaccinated against COVID-19 so far across the state. New Delhi: Physical classes in higher education institutions are all set to resume from Monday (July 26, 2021) in Karnataka as the COVID-19 pandemic second wave subsides. Deputy Chief Minister C.N. Ashwath Narayan on Sunday said that state-run and private colleges across Karnataka would resume classes from Monday.  All higher education institutions, including under-graduate and post-graduate, engineering and polytechnic colleges across the state will reopen on Monday to resume classes as per the guidelines to ensure Covid appropriate behaviour, Narayan said in a statement on Sunday.
